SAHARA aims to promote women's participation in research and decision-making. While SAHARA promotes gender mainstreaming in all its work, it's also important to maintain a specific focus on gender. To this end, work is done around mentoring young female scholars, and facilitating young women researchers' participation in conferences and events.
