An important part of building a network of researchers in the social aspects of HIV/AIDS is the mentoring of scholars. Much of the capacity-building work takes place during the research process. Also, SAHARA has interns in all three regions who are enrolled in Masters or PhD programmes. The Ford Foundation has funded many of these students.
